Where is the Dolby Atmos?
If you had asked me in 2010 what 2026 would look like, I would have said we have achieved AGI, we are colonizing other planets, and almost everything is fully digital. I grew up on science fiction games and movies. Visions from “Ghost in the Shell”, “Blade Runner”, and “Deus Ex” shaped how I imagined the future.
We are now less than a year away from 2027, the year when “Human Revolution” takes place. Go watch that trailer. It is wild if you think about it.
When I look at technology today, I expected more progress in terms of quality and advancement. Even games feel somewhat stagnant over the past 10 years. I am a big supporter of Linux, especially for music production.
Right now, I use 2 setups. My desktop runs Windows 11, and my laptop runs CachyOS. The only reason I still use Windows is because of certain VSTs and my workflow for mixing movies in Dolby Atmos.
Come on, give us proper support for it. The new era is here. I would gladly pay good money for Dolby Atmos Linux native tools.
That’s my little rant about the current state of software in 2026.
